Community
We love getting involved with our local community!
It’s so important that we support the local community where we can. Pet City has been operating for over 60 years in the heart of Mount Gravatt; and as locally-grown as the earth our Brisbanites’ stand on!
Kim Peries, Owner of Pet City, has been getting her hands dirty by helping Pet City grow since she was a little girl. For locals like you and me, we live by the Aussie spirit of helping our mates where we can. This is why Kim has been volunteering with local schools and not-for-profit companies to give back to our community.
Currently, Kim is organising School Breakfast Club, also known as the ‘Top Up Stations’ around at Brissie schools. These stations are a friendly place were kids are provided free breakfast before class starts. This is a great way to help those who just might skip breakfast, are time poor, or perhaps their families that might be struggling a little.
Other things Kim is involved in are:
- Inner Wheels Wishart
- Man's Shed
- Rotary Mt Gravatt
- Cereal for Coffee
- Southside Chamber of Commerce
Quite often you’ll see Kim attend local shows, school events and meetings for Brisbane where she can talk to our future generation of pet owners about responsible ownership. If you see Kim out and about at local events, be sure to say hello!

You can find these Top Up Stations at primary schools around Brisbane, offering hungry kids a chance to 'top up' before class starts. This is a great way to help ensure they receive the most important meal of the day!
