Arcadia Reptile Heat Lamp Cage - Them screws..

By: on 3 May 2022
Let me start by saying this is a great product. Definitely recommend everyone who owns any sort of animal that requires heating or light bulbs to get cages for the safety of their reptiles or even birds, cats, etc. (Yes some people have cat enclosures, it's weird but hey maybe they just want to keep the carpets clean). The screws though, I threw them straight in the bin. They were, maybe, 1cm long and probably 2mm wide. My way around this was scouring my shed finding 3 replacement screws that had fat heads to clamp the cage to the roof, enough girth to hold against my 8ft Darwin Carpet Python and the length to grab onto more than 3 sheds or timber. Just make sure the screw thread glides through the hole and you bore holes ¾ thickness of the screws so they're still actually screwing into the roof/wall. Good cage, bad screw size. Nothing wrong with the product I just saved myself the maintanence in 2 weeks after my Python pushed against the cage and knocked the screws out.
