Arcadia PureSun Small Animal UV-B Lamp Kit Mini

Why is animal lighting important?

In their natural environment, guinea pigs are exposed to a certain level of sunlight. Exposure to UVB rays allows piggies to synthesis Vitamin D3 which is needed to break down calcium. If guinea pigs don’t received enough D3, it’s quite common for kidney stones and bladder stones to form. So, when kept as pets, it’s important to offer an appropriate substitute for lighting. 

Guinea pigs are quite sensitive to changes in temperature, and it’s not recommended to house them in direct sunlight. Arcadia’s Puresun UV-B kit is a great alternative to provide your rodent with a safe amount of lighting to keep them happy and healthy.
